Re: Recommendation for Controller : 5-Axis CNC Router
The Oak unit has on-board hardware for four axis drives. If you want to run five or six axis drives, then you will need an OpticDirect board for each additional drive. The OpticDirect board(s) are connected, in a chain, to the drive expansion header on the Oak. OpticDirect PN13189 USD $500 each The ...

Re: Centroid motor/encoder cable sizes
Assuming you are referring to DC servo motor cables, for use with the Allin1DC: The power cables are probably Belden #1423A, which is about 0.34" diameter. The encoder cables are probably West Penn #3653, which varies widely from batch to batch, but which is generally between 0.20" and 0.2...

Re: Need Control Box advice on my 2007 ShopBot PRS conversion
In my opinion (based on 20+ years of building controls that generally run reliably) there is no reason to strip the paint off the subpanel. If the subpanel itself is grounded, and it is bonded to the enclosure, and the DIN rails are securely bonded to the subpanel via their mounting screws, and you ...

Re: Simple question Re: Intercon Profile feed rate control
I am pretty sure that "Rapid Between Cuts" only applies to X axis infeed, not the Z axis return.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Oak with Delta C2000
Maybe try a longer dwell time? I don't know that I have ever seen that message, but it sounds like what CNC12 should say if it gets to the next XY hole location, but the spindle has not finished stopping and reversing from tapping the preceding hole. If it is just an informational message, and CNC12...

Re: Simple question Re: Intercon Profile feed rate control
Yes, the first move (from the "start" point, which is really the clearance point; to the beginning of the profile itself) should be a feedrate move if it is going to encounter materlal; and can be a rapid move if it is fully clear of the end of the stock. Since you are probably turning bet...

Re: No Heart beat
Board Pings no error but will not connect to CN12 10.168.41.1 is the address of the local PC ethernet adapter. The successful ping in your picture shows only that the local adapter is configured with the correct address. The Acorn board is 10.168.41.2 Try a ping command to that. If the ping command...

Re: Odd Shaped Bore Holes
Can you post a couple screen shots of the CNC12 graph of the NC file: one with F9/Zoom All, and one zoomed in so that one of the small holes takes up at least a quarter of the screen?

Re: Odd Shaped Bore Holes
I must be missing something. I downloaded the "op2_top.nc" file and graphed it, and it looks sort of like a circular pocket cleanout ca. 7.5" in diameter. Where are the 2.5mm diameter holes described and shown in your first post? I suspect you are running into an arc-chording issue, e...
