Re: Axis motion after electronics moved to new enclosure

All wiring diagrams that are made for the dm series leadshine drivers use the db25. It is to do with 5v step/dir signals instead of 24v I believe. Most servo's tie directly into the board. I would find one of the wiring diagrams for the dm series drivers and go with that. It is proven to work. A 10-...

Re: Axis motion after electronics moved to new enclosure

Considering they may be similar to the DM leadshine, they should probably be hooked up with the breakout board in the db25.

When you updated the software did you restore the report, or start from scratch setting up the machine?

Re: Axis motion after electronics moved to new enclosure

Basically if it worked before you did the swap, you missed something in the wiring swap. One loose strand of wire to the plug, can mess things up.

I'm surprised to see you are not using the db25 for the step/dir outputs. What are the model number and brand of drives?

Re: Tool Hight measurement Macro

Do you have an auto tool change machine, or do you just need to measure each tool after a manual change? I have macro's for both.

Re: Limit alarms when trying to home

It's telling you your homing file is messed up or it's pointing to something that is not set up correctly for it in the mfunc 71 file.
From the wizard screen do a Control/P and that will make a pdf of your wizard settings. Then post it here so we can see it.

Re: VFD control voltage

Try to run the spindle with a 9v battery to the vfd terminals instead of using acorn for a test. That should give you 90% of max speed and verify if the vfd is set up correctly.

Re: today i drafted a discussion paper on tool height offset methods

Ken im not sure what you mean. Reference in our lexicon is not a part zero. any version of CNC12 will "auto store" the tool offsets, this is nothing new. :D I couldn't use the auto measure feature with my table limits, so maybe that would be fixed together. I want a macro button on screen ...

Re: today i drafted a discussion paper on tool height offset methods

Will the new version auto store the tool offset in the library? I changed to z zero button to Z Reference so my brain understands. If the homing wizard section had a spot to give an extra move it would help. So if the home limit switch for x is 2" from the home spot you want, you enter that num...

Re: Trouble creating Air Blast Macro

You don't have to use m8 macro for the #8 output. You can use m30, or any unused macro. You also don't have to have it assigned in the output. If it is just listed as output8 on the outputs them m68 turns it on and m88 turns it off if I remember correctly.

Re: Drive fault issue

Are the motors the same to where you can switch them? Are the wires long enough to where you can switch them? It's just a process of elimination. You might also remove the x motor from the machine and try to move it back and fourth manually to see how smooth it is.
