Re: experiencing communication errors, See tech bulletin 270
By the looks of it, this has been going on since early April. Your message log in the report is full of mpu resends. Have you gone over all the information in the tech bulletin #270? Easy enough to try a new shielded cable and check the logs for errors.

You could disable closed loop mode with dip switch #6 and try them as open loop just to see what happens.

Re: Proposed solution to home/liimit all issue
I believe that there is some new M-code that allows one to go out of the "envelope", but I've not used it and don't recall what it is. You could also do just HomeAll, and then set your software limits to limit travel. You could also set your tool change location to only go that close, and edit the ...

Re: Park and Home from any screen
Why are you wanting to park or home when not at the main screen (where those two operations are normally done)? Just curious as to what screen you are staying on instead of returning to the main screen.

Re: 'RESET HOME" on VCP does nothing
Depending on what software version you are running, you may need to check what macro is assigned to that button in the wizard, and/or check the .xml file for that button to see what skin event is assigned.
In the wizard, on the VCP aux keys page, the default macro for aux key 16/skin event 69 is ...

Are you positive that you have the encoder wires correct? I've use the Leadshine version of that drive (with their cables) several times, and the order of the wire colors are white, red, blue, black, green, yellow. Your greens and yellows are reversed.

Guessing the errant plunge might be due to this line in your file....
N0300 ; Tool Length Compensation (+)
N0310 G43 G0 Z0.8000 H1
If that's the problem, you can edit the post processor that you are using to change the output.
Also, be sure that your Vectric job setup for where part Z zero is at ...

Re: New Build: Pimped-Out Shopbot PRS Alpha 60x96 w/ATC
Awesome job, you're gonna like it! My PRS is nothing compared to yours when it comes to all the bling, but it's been working great since 2019 with CNC12!
I see you followed ShopBot's original circa 2007 Alpha wiring methodology. Sorry, had to say it, because mine was the same way.
