Re: Hickory and TT-4 Tool Setter wiring

Thanks again.

If there's no likely benefit, I'll keep it 24V. I hate having to manage a bunch of different signal voltages on a machine.

That was it. TTS-4 appeared to be triggered and was throttling the MPG jogging.

Thanks a ton for the tip.

So the new MPGClient file is GTG.

Re: WMPG-6 High CPU Resources on MPGClient.exe

EDIT - See below post for resolution. No issues with new file

UPDATE

The new MPGClient file has resulted in the MPG not functioning properly.

1. Incremental mode - only 1x setting on MPG works as expected. 1x results in 0.0001 movement for all axes, but 10x and 100x do not move DRO or axis.

Re: WMPG-6 High CPU Resources on MPGClient.exe

Thank you for the fix. I'll test it and report back shortly.

BTW, moving the adapter to the 2.0 port made no difference.

EDIT : new MPGClient.exe seems to be doing the trick.

Switched to MPGClient_100.exe and the CPU usage dropped from 60-75% to 10-35%. Overall CPU load dropped from 95-100% to ...

Re: WMPG-6 High CPU Resources on MPGClient.exe

Yes there are some problems with USB3.2 and high CPU usage, but they are not specific related to the WMPG.

I have only PCs with USB3.1 and no problems with high CPU usage regardless what is connected.

Uwe

Do you mean you don't have high CPU usage regardless of connected devices, or...

You ...

Re: WMPG-6 High CPU Resources on MPGClient.exe

Same problem here.

Pre-configured miniPC purchased from Centroid 4/2025 takes a long time to start up, and once running feels a little laggy. Checked task manager and mpgclient.exe is using 60-75% of CPU. Total load is bouncing between 90%-100% when CNC12 is idle.

WMPG-6 is in the front USB 3.2 ...

Hickory Wizard - operator control input definitions

While setting up a new Hickory installation, I've come to realize the Hickory version of the Wizard seems to be missing quite a few available input definitions compared to Acorn/Acorn6.

CycleCancle2 and CycleStart2 are available in Acorn, not available in Hickory. This means no easy way to add ...

Hckory Wizard - UnclampTool function

New (first time) installation of Hickory and have an issue.

I attempted to assign output function ToolUnclamp to a pin which is connected to the spindle drawbar air solenoid valve. When I tried to save the config change, I received an error indicating input function ToolClamped and/or ToolUnclamped ...

Hickory Wizard - general outputs

In the process of setting up Hickory using the Wizard and have (maybe) found a discrepancy between the documentation and functions available in the Wizard.

In the "centroid_wizard_input_output_canned_PLC_functions" document (rev10 3-3-2025), under Output section, there are some general purpose ...

Thank you, but I've sourced some Leadshine EL8's for this project.
