What controls the spindle? Does IMG_4155.jpeg show the VFD terminals? If so, it looks like it is not set up to use analog 0-10V signals for setting the speed.


Thanks for the reply. And yes that is the VFD terminals. What should I do different there?

Based on the information you provided. (assuming you checked F2, F3 and F4, Removed from the board and with a continuity meter) Your Allin1dc will unfortunitly need to be sent back for repair or swapout. Please contact Support@centroidcnc.com to arrange a RMA.

This isn't exactly what you are talking about but it is super easy and may give you similar effect.

Machines have been using light stacks for years to display the status of the machine.

The acorn wizard has this function built right in.

It would be more helpful if you'd post a pic of your drive as there are several clones/copies of the HBS57H drives. Even better post a link to the manual for the drive. But as Uwe stated this is a standard, 5V stepper drive and will connect to Acorn using the DB25 breakout board.

Disconnect the enable wire from the acorn and see if you get motion.

If your stepper is locked when you first start the machine but goes limp when you try to home you may need to invert the enable pin. This is done in the wizard. Image attached for reference.

That function set the offset between your spindle and laser. What you described sounds like normal operation.

Was your machine homed? What happened after you entered 3 and pressed enter?

I should also add the drive must be connected and powered. we are looking for the acorns ability to short the enable wire from the stepper drive to ground.

are the other enable lights changing state while you're performing this test?

Try just measuring between EN1 and GND while cycling the enable ...
