I just created a pen holder for my CNC, but I'm not sure how to make files that work for it.
I find it useful for learning G code without making sawdust, and I see it has artistic potential, but generating tool paths from designs isn't as straight forward as I'd hoped.
I use VcarvePro 11 to create ...

Re: calling auto dust boot Macros in Vectric PP?
Sword sent me some test files that have some suggestions in the comments.
I had to tweak them a bit and there is a g30 command that I had to figure out.
It allows you to store X Y & Z coordinates, like you would a WCS, which is the starting position.
Also the drop off and pick up files are saved as ...

calling auto dust boot Macros in Vectric PP?
I have a RapidChange ATC that works well with it's custom Mfunc6 macro.
I made an automated magnetic dust boot and dock to use with it.
I've written two Macros - drop off and pick up - that work when I call them using the MDI. I need to incorporate them so when M6 is activated whether manually or ...

Re: CNC12 Mill, Lathe, Router, Plasma v5.20 is now available.
SOLVED! Thanks to ScottW for helping figure this out. He said he thought the tool change routine had taken the focus off the CNC12 software, and clicking on the Blue area might return focus and free it up. That didn't do it, but an additional Cycle Start DID free it up!

Any new guesstimate for when v5.2 will be available?
Thanks!

Re: Need Control Box advice on my 2007 ShopBot PRS conversion
Thanks CNCSNW for another point of view. I tried to be meticulous about vacuuming any chips made by the self taping screws as I went. I have read through some of the grounding discussions and it made my head hurt.

Re: Need Control Box advice on my 2007 ShopBot PRS conversion
I don't use bare metal plates. Mine are all powdercoated. However, if the component I'm mounting is metal, I sand the powdercoat off down to shiny metal underneath at least one mounting screw. "Metal components" includes DIN rail, the Acorn mounting screws, ground connections, etc.
It's hard to ...

Thanks Tom -
Though still pretty vague I hear you trying to express the potential importance of doing everything as in line with best practices as possible to minimize those potential future EMI headaches. That's my approach generally. I'm very close to the end of my conversion and it hasn't been ...

What would symptoms be if I were having grounding issues?
The list is varied and long. You'll probably be posting yours here in a week or two! 😉

Re: Need Control Box advice on my 2007 ShopBot PRS conversion
Layout looks good but tight. Rule of thumb when building and enclosure, layout everything the way you like it, measure for the cabinet size and then but the next largest one. :D
Not sure what that backplane is made of but if it's plastic you have to ditch it for a metal one. If that one is metal ...
