Re: 97 fadal dc motors with Glentek amps
ok thanks for all the insight I will weigh my options and go from there. the machine is a great base with box ways chilled ball screws and spindle thru spindle coolant and scales on x-y axis. if i have to make adapters for ac servos prob go with something like 1.8kw there a nema 52 base or 130mm ...

Re: 97 fadal dc motors with Glentek amps
For some reason i was thinking that the Oak board only did AC servos. The dc servo motors in machine have resolvers and motor tachs. there should be plenty of room to change the resolver to an encoder from the motor i have had end cap off. Next thing if i would need to replace the current servos ...

Re: 97 fadal dc motors with Glentek amps
I have found the manuals for the drives. I have already done two acorn conversions one lathe and a mill. I'm not sure on budget would say 10K or less considering I payed 2500 for the fadal with Renishaw probe and 4th axis. I just like the centroid user interface much better and it can probe much ...

97 fadal dc motors with Glentek amps
I'm thinking about doing a swap looking for best options.
Option 1 Allin1DC? but my motors are 75in-lbs/20 current. this is higher then the Allin1DC says it can drive am I correct? If I am able to use for my current motors are there schematics for connecting to my drives?
Option2 oak and swap all ...

Re: Portable 5c CNC Collet Lathe now (almost) at prototype 3 -- now with tool setter stylus
what did you have to do to set the master tool offset? did you touch off the probe then make a cut enter that for x? i have to tool setter probe also but its not at x zero, i should make it that way would be way easier tho. any tool i have beyond negative wont probe correctly.
thanks joe
thanks joe
