Re: New StepperOnline CL57T V4.1 set up not turning

OK
I gave up on the 5V Dir and Step connections and changed to 24V. I found that the motor would buzz when I clicked + or - and the motor was not locked up after.
So the tip that we don't need Enable if the motor locks up was helpful. I disconnected En+ and En-, powered everything up, loaded CNC12 ...

Re: New StepperOnline CL57T V4.1 set up not turning

I went into the Wizard and reversed the Enable on Drive 2 just to check, but no go.
At this point, I'm going to go back to basics and pull a CL57T out onto the bench and wire up a single motor (ala Marty)
I also would like to get MotionStudio working. I connected the cable to my CL57T and found ...

Re: New StepperOnline CL57T V4.1 set up not turning

Sword, Ken,
I swapped out the yellow and green encoder wires as you suggested. mounted the CL57 back to the ground plane, powered up the Acorn, loaded CNC12. The Y axis locks up as always but I don't get any movement when I click Y+ or Y- on the CNC12 screen.
Mike, I disconnected the Enable and ...

Re: New StepperOnline CL57T V4.1 set up not turning

I started double-checking all my wiring and did find a couple of loose coonections on Y VCC and EA+ I snuggled them back in and tested, but no change.
I pulled the Y CL57T and took some clearer (I think) pictures of everything. Maybe someone can see something in the pictures.
I'm about to put one of ...

Re: New StepperOnline CL57T V4.1 set up not turning

Ewe
I downloaded MotionStudio and uncompressed it. The help file seems to be in Chinese and without that I was lost. I went through all the menu choices, but of course they depend on a connection being established. I searched Google for another source for MotionStudio, but was unable to find ...

Ken Rychlik wrote: Mon Jul 28, 2025 9:48 pm So the encoder wire line has 6 wires. You have an extra ground hooked up to the brake com? I don't use that, but don't know if it matters
Ken,
No I don't have it connected to anything

Re: New StepperOnline CL57T V4.1 set up not turning

Ken,
Once again thanks for your help.
I removed power from all the enable+ inputs as you suggested. But I'm sorry to say I see no change in behavior. No movement of the axes.
i only show two in the attached pictures, but they're all disconnected
What next sir?
