Re: Centroid CNC Software Licensing Upgrade Announcement

I'm more with the higher price and allowance for skipping, to be honest.
Better make your upgrades attractive through nice features that most of the users want, than through rising costs over the time, i think.
The other variant feels like a punishment for not needing the older versions that you ...

Re: Centroid CNC Software Licensing Upgrade Announcement

I think the most important question is:
How many of your customers are making money with their Acorns?

If everyone is making money with it, maybe not too many will have problems with 80$ every year.
But if there are many hobbyists, without any yield from Acorn, i am afraid you won't keep much happy ...

Re: New build: Optimum D280x700 with AcornSix ClosedLoop

You did a great job!
Wouldn't the X-axis scale have been better on the other side?
What motor are you using for the spindle?

For mounting the tool holder, I advise you to remove the small carriage, especially if you plan to do any cutting.

i do this on mine:

Thank you! :-)

The scale is on ...

Re: New build: Optimum D280x700 with AcornSix ClosedLoop

First runs done :-)

The scales are mounted and joined to the slides, and i also changed the Encoder to another one with 2000ppr. The first one was HTL and just sliiightly above the needed 5V... :(

Also the servos are tuned in a first apporach, i reached +/1count (23bit Enc) max. deviation, about 1 ...

Re: Servo is cheeping very loud...

Yes, decoupling from ballscrew doesn't change the cheep, that has been my first try.
Also swapping it doesn't change anything.
Only removing the motor from the bracket/mount does reduce the volume drastically. It's nearly unhearable when not mounted.

And yes, the other motor has the same cheep when ...

Re: Servo is cheeping very loud...

Thank you @WesM
I already tried the automatically activated Notch-filters. But as the frequency is at 8kHz, and the Notch-filters only cover up to 4kHz, it didn't help. MotionStudio2 didn't place any automatic-filter at all.
I also had a look into the "mechanical analysis" of MotionStudio2, but I ...

Re: Servo is cheeping very loud...

I already checked other parameters, but that doesn't help at all. As i said, even on (very soft) default-settings this occurs.
I tried some more things, and i found out, the motor is nearly unhearable as long as it's not mounted!
Only when the motor is mounted to the motor-block/machine, that ...

Servo is cheeping very loud...

Hey guys,

i don't know if such things can be helped with via forum, but i try ;-)

I have 2 Leadshine L7P-400 / EL7-RS400P drivers with 2 ELM2H-0200LA60F Servo-Motors mounted on my lathe:

Re: Touch Screen Monitors

Touch with PC for about 400 bucks but only Gen4 i5 Intel, so WIN11 only with cheating

That's a point!
I hope CNC12 will work with WIN10 for a looong time in the future! Because buying a good, big and up-to-date Touch-PC would be VERY expensive^^
Most of the older ones won't install ...

Servo Tuning, target values and base parameters for CNC-applications generally?

Hey guys,

i am about to tune my leadshine-servos now. I found some resources about the process itself, this shouldn't be a problem. But i can't find any statements about the base- and target-values for THIS certain application to be achieved?
I am talking about the target and basic values, that ...
